If you really knew me you'd know that…

I was born and raised in the American midwest, an only child. I moved around quite often during my childhood; I went to four different elementary schools, one junior high, and two high schools throughout the midwest and east coast.

I loved school at first, Montessori. When I started public school in first grade I suddenly became a stupid kid and lived with that identity for three years until we moved into a better school system. I had a crazy stuttering problem in 4th grade and recorded all of my oral presentations at home and would stand next to the tape recorder in front of the class.That was also the year I got glasses and braces - 'yikes!' as my friend Scott would say.

One of the best parts of my life was being involved with the Ohio Light Opera, first as an usher, then as a part of the costume shop/wardrobe staff, music librarian, and finally singer. Another one of the best parts of my life were the years I rehearsed and performed my own choreography with a troupe in college. 

I studied Chinese in high school and college because it was different from anything I'd ever done before.  I had always wanted to study Japanese because my father spent so much time in Tokyo when I was little, but Chinese came along first and laid claim to the East Asian Language part of my brain.

Languages are very important to me.  They are a link to the heart of a culture.  Studying German in high school brought me to the perfect moment of being able to communicate with my grandfather when he could only speak German after his stroke.  Studying Welsh as an adult has enabled me to vibrationally connect to my Welsh and Celtic ancestors at a much deeper level than otherwise possible. 

The most fundamental parts of my life are:

*  the relationship I have with my parents who live across the country
*  nurturing my relationships with my friends
*  continuing to explore women's space
*  practicing being real around men
*  my commitment to artistic expression as a healing tool
*  listening closely to the signals my body sends me and interpreting them as wisdom instead of punishment
*  cooking and eating healthy organic food that truly supports my healing
*  my connection to the Great Mystery and to my Ancestors

One of my strongest callings is to hold space for women exploring the gifts of their bodies. This work has so far manifested in circles honoring women's moontime and menopause.
